As a practice we wish to attract clients from every walk of life, and being presented with a plethora of building problems to solve. As for our clients we hope they have free minds, with few preconceptions about the outcome of their project, merely a clear idea of their aspirations.

The practice, Haward Architects, is a single team practice headed by the principal Brian Haward who is registered with The Royal Institute of British Architects and is an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation.

Recent work includes the new sports pavilion for the Southwold Rugby Club and a small but effective headquarters for The Coastal Voyager. Both projects are in environmentally sensitive important areas. It also includes the first in a range of low energy passive houses and one of the few country houses constructed under the special rule brought in by Parliament under John Gummer. The practice was also responsible for the design of Southwold Pier, being the first new pier built anywhere in the United Kingdom since 1953.
